Ellis Marsalis Lifetime Achievement in Music Award Winner
What a beautiful blessing Mr. Ellis is to Jazz, our city and to my darling little baby brother (@6:05). I am ever so thankful that the stars aligned and Derek was placed in my Mom & Dad's hands. I am ever so thankful that I was placed 9 years earlier and that my little Derek is in my life. I can't image life without him. I am also so thankful that Mr. Ellis heard Derek when he was in High School, became a mentor and Derek has been with him from that day forward.
