Good news/bad news

Oh...

Good news is Barb is alive.

Bad news is that Barb is right handed and it is her right hand.

They are home!

Barb's hand... ice and rest

I can see that...

"I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later!"

Caturday!

I got this from Barb last night...

Made me cry...

"Had some dinner - starting to feel "normal" again !
Thanks for all of the good vibes.

So many thoughts go thru your mind - Mine were on how very lucky & blessed I am.

Meeting you @ City Bark was one of the greatest blessings - you are a wonderful
friend. I could never repay you for all you have done.

Working with NOLA pet care and my extended family there is something I truly
give thanks for everyday! Love you all very much ❤"

I can not thank you all for your thoughts and I know she is most appreciative too.

Today is the day... Barb's surgery

I know I often sound like a broken record but I respect, admire and love my Team with everything I have. I know - completely unethical.  Barb and I "interviewed" each other for months before I offered the position and she has never once disappointed me.  We are all still so upset about this dog attack and I am trustful that she will be in good hands today.

My wish for today is for her fear to subside, for her to find comfort and peace and that the surgery is successful and she can take rest.

When surgery is over and we are all clear - I will let you know.  Thank you so much for your care and concern.  Whatever you do/whomever you talk to - it is appreciated.  Please send positive vibes, cross fingers and paws and keep Barb in your thoughts.

Much love Barb - from all of us...

Barb update...

We have received such an outpouring of concern for Barb and we can't thank you enough.  It makes us both so emotional. Her pre-op was yesterday and my Team really stepped up to help take care of all of her little ones.  Her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and frankly, she is scared and I understand that fear.  You know, some people have no problem facing surgery head on and others do not.  For someone that has never had an experience, it is harder.  We trust she will be fine and we are so hopeful that rehab can be handled quickly too.  Barb is a very strong woman and it is hard to hear that fear in her voice.  The one thing she said today is how grateful she is that those that she does not even take care of on route - care.

Not long ago a "brand manager" asked why I chose to position myself as "Nicole Douget" vs "New Orleans Pet Care" and suggested that the decision was wrong.  I disagreed completely.  Our Clients, my Team and our Partners (Elizabeth, Crescent City Vet, etc.) are like family to me.  I don't need a brand... I want a family that takes care of each other.  If we never get another new client... I am fine with that.  I just want to protect and be there for the ones we love and have.

I will keep you posted on Barb's surgery tomorrow.  Megan, Erin, Bradley and Pamela are all helping us to make sure that all is taken care of because as you know - not being there for your needs is not an option.

Thank you so much.  We got this... paws crossed, prayers, positive vibes, whatever you do - will be much appreciated.

School Day!
