August 3-5 “I Cat Help Falling in Love” Cat Adoption Event, The Louisiana SPCA will be holding a special adoption event kicking off Friday, August 3rd and running through Sunday, August 5th. This weekend only, all kittens will be available for an adoption fee of $10 and cats are FREE. Standard adoption procedures will remain in effect and landlord permission is required. Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, micro-chipping, all vaccinations, a bag of cat food, and a New Orleans Rabies tag and license. Adoption hours 10am-7pm Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday and 12-4pm Sunday. The Krewe of the Rolling Elvi and the Jailhouse Rockers will be swinging by on Saturday to take pictures and perform at 1pm. August 11th Critter Cinema, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at the Louisiana SPCA, located at 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd., from 6:00pm-9:30pm. Great fun for animal-loving, pizza-eating, movie-watching kids! What better way to end the week than getting cozy with kitties & puppies, enjoying G-rated critter movies, making friends with other young animal lovers and snacking on pizza & popcorn at the LA/SPCA! August 18th 50 Haircuts in 50 States in 50 Days—from 8:30am-8:00pm, Paris Parker Aveda Salon (5434 Magazine St.) will host hairstylist Patrick Lomantini on his nationwide quest to provide 50 Haircuts in 50 States in 50 Days!
