GOOD NEWS from Baton Rouge! Last year, we partnered with Representative Tom Willmot (R-Kenner) to introduce a bill which prohibited people from allowing unconfined dogs to ride in the back of pickup trucks or other vehicles. The committee was very hostile and the bill was voted down. Our Executive Director, Jeff Dorson, reports from Baton Rouge that this year's version of the bill, House Bill 470 - which now applies strictly to interstate highways - passed the committee today and is now moving to the House floor.
