1 week + 1 day = Not much sleep for mommy!

What a wowzer of a week... I am so in love with these two. Henri is sleeping well, ringing the bell for potty outside and taking "crate time" without much fuss. Isabelle is up early, trying to eat the bell and hates "crate time". As the days go by, Henri is getting so much easier and Isabelle is getting so much harder! Whatyagonna do? I love um! Invest 93 - YEA!

Hi, this is Rob Carver, again filling in for Jeff Masters. Invest93L is still present as of the 8am EDT Tropical Weather Outlook, but I'm extremely doubtful that it will reach even tropical depression status. Invest93L's presentation on satellite imagery does not project the image of a strengthening storm. Convection, what there is of it, appears to be anchored over the Yucatan Straits and is not following the low-level circulation center. Also, microwave imagery indicates that the convection is weak, with relatively low rainfall rates. It is worth noting that even if more convection forms after the circulation center moves into the Gulf of Mexico, there isn't much time for the storm to strengthen. By Tuesday evening, both the NAM and GFS 06Z model runs bring a weak front down into the Gulf, raising wind shear to the point that would dissipate Invest93L. So, after considering the above, it's my opinion that Invest93L is not likely to intensify and will dissipate in a day or so.Rob Carver

Invest 93... Platform Plan - Phase 1
Platform Plan - Phase 1... we are going to take this opportunity to execute Phase 1 of our Disaster Preparedness Plan to "retest" our systems. This will involve all traveling clients with a departure date of Saturday, 6/27 and beyond. If you have any questions or concerns about our Disaster Preparedness Plan, please phone or email. Thanks.
Night Night
Henri and Isabelle have learned to get "in Remy's bed" before "night night crate time". So cute... they jump in and settle well. When I say "night night crate time"... they walk right in. Really! This is my favorite part of my day!
By the way... I ran my bath yesterday... turned my back for one second and Isabelle was crawling in it! By next week, I bet she will be strong enough to pull herself in! OH MY!

Finally...
We are getting there... Thank goodness I am home all week! Both are doing really well with going outside. We have very few accidents! Crate training is going well but we are going to push time inside today and see how that goes. They are very good at settling down outside of the crate and are (knock on wood) not responding to the door bell or the alarm chime. They let me sleep until 5am today. I am thinking about letting them get up and stay up at 5am... It would help me get my 90 minute walk done earlier. Anyone have and feedback/past experience? Email if so... Yea!!
I got this from a new client yesterday and it made my day...
"I was so impressed with the care my cats received while I was away. The notes from each day were so reassuring and much more than I expected... You have obviously done a great job of choosing pet sitters that love animals and understand how difficult it can be to leave them. Thanks so much. "
I love that! And I agree... I have the BEST team ever!

Motherhood - Day Two

Awww the joy! Mike and I picked up the babies yesterday afternoon. They are just so cute... Henri is very laid back and thus far, crates himself up when he is ready. He is a real cuddle bug. I can't be sure but I think Remy came back as Isabelle. She is the total opposite. She is all about toys and playing with her brother. She is not a big fan of "crate time". They slept most of the night and are starting to understand "get busy". I am so very greatful to have so much help at La Maison Remy... you forget how much work this is! P.S. - Sexy Max... not a big fan!

New Orleans Pet Care News...
We are rotating vacations and have Derek back to help us. For those that do not know Derek, he is my little brother and has worked for me (on and off..) from day one! He was my very first team member when he was in college! If you have a second, check out his web site... your dog walker is famous in the Jazz world! Oh and by the way... because I am sure you will wonder... we are all adopted and had the opportunity to grow up in a very multi cultural family.

This email is to inform you of a reecent experience in your neighborhood.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2009, one of our Team Members and a clients two dogs were attacked outside/near 1211 1/2 Hagan Street during our "regular mid visit".
Our pets were leashed and in our control, when two Doberman Pincer(s) bounded and attacked from the above stated residence.
The pets in our care were not injured, but our Team Member was. As we do in any case, we completed the "online" Complaint or Request for Investigation. (link below)
http://www.la-spca.org/prevention/animal_control.htm
It is our understanding that a second complaint was filed by the pet owner for the same reason for a incident that took place two weeks earlier, while the pets were in his care and control. In that case, one of the pet owner's dogs was injured and required veterinarian care.
The safety of your pets and my team are of the utmost importance to me. Our relationship with all of you is very important, so please do not hesitate to phone me if you have any questions or concerns.
Please let us know if there are pet owners in your area that are not adhering to our city's leash law* and we will be sure to avoid that area. Please feel free to forward as you see fit.
Thanks and have a great evening.

Needs a forever home...

This fella is a littermate to our male Corgi, Brewster. The breeder has him now because his owners moved into a town home that has no yard, and he wasn't happy. He's very healthy, no behavioral issues. The only thing is that he likes to jump and lick, but that can be easily trained not to do. If you know anyone who may be interested, breeder is seeking a $200 re-home fee because she has kept him up to date with shots and monthly heartworm meds

Hurricane Season - 2009
Last year at this time we were watching Tropical Depression Arthur so we are already off to a better start!
I always reserve personal comment on the writer… however; the quote is one that I find myself using this time of the year. “Hope is not a plan. Don’t hope for something. Plan for it. ”-Anderson Cooper (When talking about respective response of government(s) support, or lack thereof, regarding Katrina)
Plans are so very important in our business as well...
My business is taking care of your family and I take that very seriously. So, for everyone visiting the site…New Orleans Pet Care clients – You know the PLAN.
If you would like a copy of our Disaster Preparedness Guide For Pet Owners, please send us an email and we will be happy to send that to you. Our email address is NOLAPetCare@aol.com
Potential New Orleans Pet Care clients – We do not haphazardly enforce our PLAN. It may be a bit more than you want to think about but this is not our first hurricane season. If you choose another pet care company or decide upon a boarding facility, I would suggest that you are sure they have a written plan that leaves no room for ambiguity.
Just a few things…My site is hosted outside of New Orleans. My Webmaster is in Illinois.
The blog turns into an emergency page (it has always been on the site, just not visible).
The blog can/will be managed from anywhere but… this year we will manage from:
Gonzales, Louisiana (225)
Dallas, Texas (214, 972)
Little Rock, Arkansas (501)
These numbers will be posted on the blog if necessary.
We HOPE to never have to execute the PLAN again... but we are prepared to do so.HOPE IS NOT A PLAN.
