I get a few of these at least once a year...
I should have known this would not go well but wanted to hear how completely stupid she was. After explaining our hurricane policy she said "that is fine but if something happens, just leave extra food and water. They are (7) cats, they will be fine. It should not flood here."
Me - "Where do you live that you are so confident that it will not flood?"
Stupid - "Lakeview"
Me - "Are you new to New Orleans?"
Stupid - something like "Yes and I hate it here."
Now it is entertainment...
Me - "How long and where are you going"
Stupid - "Leaving the country for 30ish days" (I can't remember the number)
Me - "Will you be needing one or two visits a day?"
Stupid - "Actually I will be leaving 5 days prior to your first visit and returning 5 days after your last visit and only need visits every three days."
Me - "Are you insane?"
Stupid - "Excuse me"
Me - "Are you insane?"
Stupid - "Excuse me"
Me - "Silly me - of course you are. Your pets should be taken away from you".
Stupid - "...I am going to tell all of my friends how horrible you are..."
Me - "You have friends? Good tell them - they must be stupid too. Thanks and make it a great day dumb dumb."
Was I to harsh?
