DOG, CAT AND WINE LOVERS UNITE
Specialty Wine Company to Donate Profits to Louisiana SPCA

NEW ORLEANS (August 2009) — Carvintas Winery will donate 10% of its profits to the Louisiana SPCA (LA/SPCA) from specialty wines featuring 2 dogs and a cat from the shelter. The wines, both Syrah from California, feature the rescue animal’s picture, as well as their story:

Bobby, an 11 year-old, slightly overweight tabby, arrived at the shelter after his family of ten years could no longer care for him. Once adopted, Bobby, then 19 lbs, could not even fit in his carrier. Today, he is thriving in his new home, eats only healthy food and has lost two pounds. Click Here to Purchase Bobby's Syrah

Snoopy and Kaluha, ages 8 ½ and 10 ½, were turned over to the shelter after their loving owner passed away. While both were very well behaved and socialized, they had trouble finding a home because of their age. Luckily, a shelter volunteer fell in love with the pair and they were adopted together. Today, they are busy as role models to two lab puppies who share their home. Click Here to Purchase Snoopy and Kaluha's Syrah

“Each August for the past 3 years we have selected an animal from LA/SPCA to feature.“ says Matt Hahn, of Carvintas Winery, “It’s our way to bring awareness to LA/SPCA and the work they did during the Katrina disaster and continue to do on a daily basis.”

These special addition wines will be available throughout the year, while supplies last. Any wine can be purchased to benefit the LA/SPCA. To date, approximately $70,000 has been donated to rescue groups across the country. To ensure LA/SPCA receives a donation, select Louisiana SPCA as an “affiliate” when purchasing.

The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is an organization devoted to improving the lives of animals and eliminating the homelessness, neglect and abuses that signal animal suffering.
