Fantastic read! Derek was "recruited" by UNO when he was a Junior in High School. From his first year forward, he has been playing with. Mr. Marsalis. I always get overwhelmed when I see the thousands gathered inside the Jazz Tent, shoulder to shoulder to hear Mr. Ellis. I love going to Snug Harbor on a Friday and seeing a line that goes from the stage door to outside of the door and down Frenchman. Mr. Marsalis... what a story.

OG with his shorty...
Thankfully OG is patient...
Contemplating a helmet for shorty. I hate to say "typical boy"... really I do but:
- Runs into walls
- Still can't figure out that the door to the backyard is glass... runs into it 90% of the time
- Can get into chairs but can't figure out how to get out of them
- Goes into 1st floor power room (door is always slightly ajar) and always closes it behind him (Oh and don't say a jar of what!)
So cute. Growing so fast!

Please don't let friends/tourists/people you see stumbling - drink and walk. Nothing good comes of it!
YELLO - I know our city can appear to be the adult Disneyland... it is not. Not blaming the victim... Really I am not. If the victim was that trashed... he did a pretty good job of race, height, hair, etc.

Heads up Garden District neighbors!
From GDS
Because of the recent uptick in crime in our area and nearby uptown areas, the GDSD Board of Commissioners has taken added precautions to increase patrol coverage starting today until the weekend. We once again encourage you to use the patrol to report any suspicious activity right away and to use the escort service as often as possible. Be sure to give the patrol number to your family and guests to use as well. The number to contact the officers on duty is 899-4373 (GDSD). Put this number in your cell phone as a direct contact number for easy access, and add it to your first responder list for your home alarm.
Other things you can do to be safer:
Remove all items from your car to remove the temptation of would be criminals. This is a simple thing we all can do to help keep our family and neighbors safer.
Keep your exterior lights on throughout the night. The beautiful trees in the Garden District add to its darkness. Any amount of light helps to deter crime.
Here’s hoping we all have a safe and happy New Year!

Lesson learned and I am sorry... (Updated)
UPDATED - Tuesday 12.30.14 - Not that sorry DMX.
Snopes page
"While it is true DMX was arrested in 2008 for animal cruelty, the story about his purported 2014 arrest on charges related to dogfighting is a complete work of fiction: Infossip was the only source to report on this "news," and the photos used in this fake news article were actually taken from a dog fighting raid in August 2013 which resulted in the arrest of eight people (none of whom were n
Y'all - Please share... this darling needs to get home!
Hey Nicole,
My coworker found this little darling at Rock-N-Bowl on Christmas Day. He is a young intact male. He was filthy, but in otherwise good condition. He was scanned once for a chip and will be re-scanned. He was wearing a dirty collar with no tags. (the collar in the photos is new.)
My coworker is trying to hold on to him until his person can be located. Craigslist post is here:https://neworleans.craigslist.org/pet/4820842619.html
Big Gumbo/Football party yesterday...
Our little house guest has started doing the same thing that Henri and Isabelle do and I think it is sort of funny. Meanwhile... they all give little M side eye and all he wants to do is PLAY!
Heads up neighbors!
