PERMIT RENEWALS:

All 2010 permits that were not renewed have been deactivated. Note: If you purchased your card after October 31, 2010, it is good for 2011. New permits and permit renewals are still only $35 and are valid through December 31, 2011. We accept cash, check or credit card.

Permits may be renewed by mailing or bringing the permit form to our office at #1 Palm Drive, NOLA 70124. The dog park office is open 8AM-5PM, M - F. You will keep your existing 2010 entry card and it will be activated for 2011 upon renewal.

Please help keep the permit fee low and prevent "gate crashers." Do not admit persons who do not have permit cards or who show a card that does not activate the gate release into the park. Remind them that they need to send in a renewal form and pay the $35 fee for 2011.

If someone has renewed for 2011 and is having trouble with the card card, they should come to the dog park office or call 483-9377 for assistance during business hours.

LASPCA - Flyball Training Course

Flyball is coming to the LASPCA in March. Flyball is all about fun for you and your dog. The eight-week class, taught by Melissa Ellis, is designed to teach the basics of the sport of Flyball.

Course Dates: Saturday - March 12th from 9am - 10:30am & March 12th from 10:30am - Noon

Flyball is a dog sport in which teams of dogs race against each other from a start/finish line, over a line of hurdles, to a box that releases a tennis ball to be caught when the dog presses the pring loaded pad, then back to their handlers while carrying the ball.

Sexy Max @ the Vet

Awww - look at him sitting on Bradley's lap!

Getting big!

OH NO!

Poor darling is chewing her tail...
She looks so uncomfortable!

Cute stuff!

From the web site...

The Spotted Cat Company donates 5 to 15 percent of each sale to select animal rescue & animal welfare organizations that directly assist animals in need. Each fine gift you select, whether a whimsical Jim Shore figurine or a stunning Laurel Burch designer tote or pair of funny cat earrings, has been carefully chosen to project the love and joy that our four-footed furry friends can bring into our lives. Your purchase gives support and comfort back to those animals who most need it. We have asked our partner animal welfare organizations apply the donations from The Spotted Cat Company specifically to veterinary services for the animals in their care.

Why veterinary services? Well, Dr. Diane (ahem… yours, truly!) is a trained veterinarian herself and is aware of just how expensive veterinary care is for animal welfare organizations, even when local vets are giving of their time and resources. The costs of a needed medication or veterinary treatment can make the difference in the future of a rescued animal and it is our hope that each and every one gets a chance at a happy, healthy life with a new family. So you see, this donation thing… it’s not just something we do, it’s who we are!

My better side...

What great ears!

From Facebook

Will you help the homeless pets in our care? We are in need of newspapers to line our kennels! We have so many puppies right now that we are going through newspaper really quickly. If you have newspaper you would like to donate please bring it to 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd, the puppies will thank you!

I don't look happy but I am...

Alegria Fashion Show - LASPCA Event

"Of all the fashion events happening in New Orleans, Alegria is the most committed to nurturing and promoting new and established designers and models. The talent of this year's participants is mind-boggling. If there's any question that New Orleans is capable of positioning itself as a fashion mecca, the inventive and meticulous designs we'll see on the Alegria runway will soon eliminate it." - Missy Wilkinson, Cue Editor-Gambit Weekly.
