We made it!
Sweet Isabelle spent the last 3 hours crying for her supper. We finally made it 12 hours and she willingly ate and let me give her insulin without a fuss. I feel like she was a little more alert today but it could be my imagination. 🤞 for tomorrow...

Day one has not been easy...
The 12 hour window is hard with one ready to eat when they normally eat.
Henri’s nickname is “snacks”... and it is all he can think about. We have to slide them to him when his sister is sleeping.
Isabelle can hear us coming with the needle and her fear breaks my heart.
We can get this figured out. We did not do the best job today but thank goodness Riverlands is 24/7!

My poor sweet Isabelle
Big thanks to Riverlands Animal Hospital for getting us in today. I can’t say enough about getting yearly Senior Blood Panels for your babies. We were aware of a possible issue with Isabelle in September and were able to process that, watch for signs and react. In the last week she started having TT accidents in her bed while sleeping, lost 10# and was drinking excessive amounts of water. Today, she was diagnosed with diabetes. While “senior panels” can’t predict everything they are good benchmark that can help guide conversations between you and your Vet. (Now to chase Isabelle around with a needle. 🤦♀️)
