Are you in Compliance with the Orleans Parish Intact Permit?
Louisiana SPCA to send out notices starting December 1
NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana SPCA Humane Law Enforcement is responsible for the enforcement of all Chapter 18 Animal Ordinances and will mail reminders to all pet owners not in compliance with the Intact Permit law outlined in Sections 18: 305-312 of the City of New Orleans Code of Ordinances starting December 1.
In 2010, the City of New Orleans approved a law that requires all pets more than 6 months of age to be spayed/neutered or have an Intact Permit. If your pet is spayed/neutered then you are automatically in compliance with the law. If your pet is intact (not spayed/neutered) then you must apply for an Intact Permit through the Louisiana SPCA per the City.
To obtain an Intact Permit you must complete one application per animal in your household. The permit requires proof of current vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian, microchip, photo of your pet, a one-time application fee of $75 and an annual permit fee of $20. Each pet’s Intact Permit must be renewed annually.
Residents who receive notices from the Louisiana SPCA regarding the Intact Permit will have 30 days to comply with the law. Exemptions are available for those pets that cannot be spayed/neutered for medical reasons.
Intact Permit applications are available online and can also be obtained by visiting the Louisiana SPCA at 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd. in Algiers. Visitwww.la-spca.org/intact to learn more about the Intact Permit and other Orleans Parish Animal Ordinances or call Louisiana SPCA Humane Law Enforcement at 504.368.5191 ext. 100.

Ms. Pamela is in love...

Dear Mommy and Dad:

Ms. Pamela stayed with me for a really long time because I am so lovable.  Thank you for my vacation.  I hear I am going to get a Thanksgiving presi and I can't wait.

I love y'all...

My darling little Murphy is here today...

This darling baby kitty cat needs a home...

Mr. Bojangles -  In 2009, I adopted him in 2009 from the SPCA on the West Bank. Bojangles is a neutered domestic short-hair (orange tabby) and turned 6 years old in September. He's up-to-date on all his shots, micro-chipped and fully recovered from his tail incident. He's a great lap cat and has a pretty laid-back personality.  He comes with the full package - food, cat trees, carrier, toys - as much or as little extras as the new owner prefers.

He is just darling and amazing and I hope we can help place him.

Please phone or email...
