A Facebook post from a DVM...

EMERGENCY!!

This past Sunday, Franklin, a member of Dr. Nix’s household, survived a life threatening emergency. While out for a walk, Franklin was bitten by fire ants and went into anaphylactic shock. He collapsed, was having difficulty breathing and his gums and tongue became white instead of pink. Franklin was rushed to MEDVET emergency clinic where Dr. Ralph put an IV catheter in, gave epinephrine, steroids and fluids. Fortunately Franklin recovered quickly but now has to go for walks with his Epipen in case he has another bite.

Anaphylactic reactions can occur from insect stings (especially bees!) and medications (rarely vaccinations.) If your pet exhibits any of these signs, rush him to us or the emergency clinic if we are closed. If you can call while on your way, we can be prepared with the proper medicines out.

Nicole:
I am at work and have nothing to do. Actually I have a lot to do but I am not motivated enough to do it. You have only posted one thing today. Help me out. I jump between 9 sites and rely on you for my cute stuff for the day. If it is a war I understand but please - my struggle is real.

Happy Caturday!

This baby was cut in half with a machete - Can you help?

Pamela shared this Facebook post from SAF...

Southern Animal Foundation  (link to web site)

This beautiful boy was named Charley Boo. He was the beloved pet of an 8 year old girl in Covington. Someone came into his yard 2 days ago and cut him in half with a machete. We can't post the picture because it is too grotesque. All of us are sickened, and SAF has put up the first $500 of the reward money to find the sick individual(s) who did this to sweet Charley. If you would like to donate toward his reward, please let us know! It is important to find whoever did this before they do it again. Maybe they will do it to an innocent child next time. We are dealing with an obvious sociopath.

I got a present...

A wonderful friend of mine sent me a BOX of things from The Black Dog. It was WAY to much and I had to fuss her... This is my favorite presi! I walk to Fresh Market everyday and I always think of her and how much I appreciate the fact that she shares her baby with us.

I love you KBK! Not because of the presi... You had us at hello! Well... she had us at hello but we love you too.

It was SOOO good

Someone was making seafood stuffed bell peppers at our house. The smell of boiling seafood in the air made me do it.

I ate 12 seafood stuffed bell peppers off of the kitchen counter in a matter of SECONDS. Sorry - not sorry.
