I wanted to pass along some New Orleans Pet Care Team news...
Grammy Award Winning (I love the sound of that) Derek will be traveling to India and Indonesia in a few weeks when he returns he will be traveling to lots of places in the US before Jazz Fest.
We have added a very familiar face to our Team to help support his hectic travel schedule and some Spring vacation schedules. Her name is Katie and she put this together for us so you could get to know her...
I am so excited to be back in New Orleans and join ya’all! I am an avid traveler and have never met a country I have not fallen in love with; but there is nothing like returning home to New Orleans! I admit, I am a Louisiana transplant, and am actually from Northern Michigan; from one of those small towns with a gas station, a stoplight, a grocery store, a handful of people; and a million hunting camps-the kind of cities you only see in the movies. While I do love vacationing in new places, I have also lived and worked abroad in Guatemala, Vietnam, China, and most recently Peru; where I worked with the Ministry of Health as a Chagas Disease fellow. I am drawn to education and while I love teaching, I keep finding myself in school. I have a B.A. from Warren Wilson College; a M.S. from Johns Hopkins University; and I am now a PhD student at Tulane University in the Department of International Health. I am eclectic with my interests and in past lives have worked as a teacher, a backpacking guide, a backcountry search and rescue EMT, and as the Assistant Director of Education for the Outdoor Science Center in the Los Angeles School District. In my spare time I love to run, anywhere and everywhere, particularly with Buzi my favorite black lab. I also live with and love Tiny, the Great Dane; Dil and Einstein the cats; and an every-increasing assortment of fish. I am excited to have the opportunity to trade my computer for my walking legs and get out in my favorite city and meet some great pets.
