Sunday @ City Bark (from an email)

PLEASE COME OUT ON SUNDAY IN COSTUME FOR OUR HOWLoween Pawty and Pawrade.  If you can volunteer, please let me know.  If you just want to come and Pawty and Pawrade, that would be great as well.  The grand prize is a 2013 free membership for 2013 and there is no cost to enter the contest.  Details below.
It’s ‘Howloween’ Pawty Time at NOLA City Bark
this Sunday!

Grab your Halloween costume, dress up your canine -- and join the NOA City Bark Board and members for our firstHowloween Pawty & Costume Parade this Sunday, Oct. 14 from 2 pm to 5 pm.

We’ll have prizes for best costumes and a parade as well at 2:30 pm. Costume categories include: best large dog, best small dog, most original costume, best couple (this would be human/dog or dog/dog couple), and best group (group of dogs or dogs and people).

Bob Becker, City Park CEO, will award the prizes and Catherine Shreves, host of NOLA Marketplace on WGNO (ABC) and NOLA 38(CW) will be the emcee. Ana Zorilla, executive director of the LA/SPCA and volunteers from other rescue groups will judge. First prize is a 2013 permit to the dog park.

In the true Halloween spirit, Marie Laveau will offer a voodoo blessing for the dog park.

The Body Shop from Lakeside Mall will be on hand to offer pampering paw rubs for dogs and their humans and Be Sweet Cupcakes will provide treats for the humans. Marcella’s Bowtique will have special Halloween decorated bows for humans and scarves for canines for sale and we’ll be selling NOLA City Bark t-shirts, onesies and dog tees at special clearance prices. You can also purchase your 2013 annual permits.
We’ll even have pet photographer, Erika Bresee of Free Air Photography, to capture your canine’s costume moment. After the event you can view the photos at www.freeairphotography.com. If you are looking for a pooch pal or another addition to your pet family, we will have some adoptables in their pawty vests looking for their forever homes.

Of course we’ll serve both food and drink from local purveyors.

So start your Halloween celebration this Sunday at NOLA City Bark. The pawty is free and open to all members and their dogs.
