Heads up y'all... 8th Street in the IC - In home invasion

Irish Channel resident, 75, robbed in home-invasion Friday night, police say

Two police officers parked on Eighth Street confer during a home-invasion investigation Friday.

A 75-year-old Irish Channel resident was robbed at gunpoint by two men who broke into his home Friday evening, police and the victim said.
The victim was at his home in the 700 block of Eighth Street (between Chippewa and Annunciation) around 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, when his back door was kicked open and two men burst in, he said. One of them had a gun and said, “Give me everything you’ve got,” the victim said. When he did what they told him, they fled out the front door, he said.
The entire robbery took about two minutes, the man said. The intruders didn’t harm him, though he kept expecting them to while they were in the house, he said.

“I thought the one with the gun was going to bust me in the head with the butt of the gun,” he said.

The incident is under investigation as a home invasion, said NOPD Officer Garry Flot, a departmental spokesman. Police officers and crime-scene technicians remained at the victim’s house investigating until after 11 p.m.
Anyone with information that could help with the investigation should call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
