Q&A to wrap the year...
We asked if you had any questions and y'all did not dissapoint. I will post some daily until the first of the year!
What time do you start and finish your day, and do you work
seven days a week?
Depending on the day, we can start as early
as 5:30a. Pamela takes care of the majority of our cat clients, and we always
start with them first. Our day ends around six unless someone books a later visit. Everyone is tucked in at about that time. We do work seven days a week. 364 days a year. The only
day we just cannot work is Mardi Gras day because with our client base we just
can not freely move around the city.

Another family car ride...
Take a ride to Convent. It is absolutely beautiful. You can take a walk behind the crèche along the Oak allee. It has a beautiful view of the Mississippi River.

7 Pet Industry Trends to Know (2024-2027)
I love learning about the latest pet industry trends. This interesting article outlines the latest trends. Here are some things I found interesting…
The
supplements category is expanding, specifically the growing number of CBD
products.
The
Hygiene category has some interesting things on the horizon. Toothpaste ranges,
cleaning wipes, etc.
I
was surprised to learn about all the technology around litter robots. Also, Pretty Litter was something I did not
realize existed. The litter changes colors based on the cat’s urine PH levels.
It can help you detect illnesses in cats like worms, metabolic acidosis and UTI.
Have you heard about The Bear & The Rat products that are sold at Whole Foods? I may be the last one to jump on this trend!
The DTC information is also interesting. I actually buy 100% DTC at this point.

Tallulah is a road dog!
We
got Tallulah in August, and she has been to Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi,
Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York! We are so thankful that
she loves car rides. Did you know Pilot Gas Stations have dog parks in some
locations? It really helped us plan our routes based on her stretching her
legs.
Our current pet friendly hotel lately has been Home2Suites by Hilton. The small suite allows us to use her travel crate and still have plenty of room to move around.
This was her last road trip. She is the big one... the little one is a client/her BFF that we got to pick up in New York and bring down to New Orleans. The adventure is on our insta if you want to check it out!

Private Dog Park!?! Yes - you can rent that!
When the twins were little I paid for private yard time at Canine Connection. NOLA Sniff Spot would have been such a game changer for us. I am so glad New Orleans has this great option. It is off Carrollton Avenue near Rock n' Bowl. It is super easy. You book online and head off to play!

We learned so much!
Embark is pricey but great information that was really helpful!
We learned Tallulah is mostly Labrador, Weimaraner & Boxer and was about 4 months when we did the test. Here is a look at her wisdom panel. Looks like we have a healthy little girl!
This did not tell us how to turn her listening ears on!

We track Tallulah with Apple Airtag
Day 2
Great presi idea!
(KNOCK ON WOOD) We have never lost a pet in our lives however it is one of my biggest fears. It literally keeps me up at night! We tracked the twins and now Tallulah with Apple Airtag(s). We also keep some handy for our overnight guests. It is affordable and compact and we use a water proof cover in case it gets wet. Awoo makes this great collar and/or harness if you want to go that route.
It really does give me such peace of mind.

On the first day of December ~ The Inner Pup of New Orleans
We are so lucky to have this amazing orgination in New Orleans. I first met the founder, Genie Goldring in 2009 when she became a client of ours. What a true gift she is to this city.
In 2015 Genie and her daughter Lindsey founded The Inner Pup with a plan for on-the-streets outeach and humane education in neighborhoods with little to no access to pet resources. They have made a huge impact in our city. Please check out the You can hlep pages on the website to see what you can to help them out! I have had one of these amazing cakes and can say without hesitation... best $100. you could ever spend.
