August 3-5 “I Cat Help Falling in Love” Cat Adoption Event, The Louisiana SPCA will be holding a special adoption event kicking off Friday, August 3^rd and running through Sunday, August 5^th. This weekend only, all kittens will be available for an adoption fee of $10 and cats are FREE. Standard adoption procedures will remain in effect and landlord permission is required. Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, micro-chipping, all vaccinations, a bag of cat food, and a New Orleans Rabies tag and license. Adoption hours 10am-7pm Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday and 12-4pm Sunday. The Krewe of the Rolling Elvi and the Jailhouse Rockers will be swinging by on Saturday to take pictures and perform at 1pm. August 11^thCritter Cinema, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at the Louisiana SPCA, located at 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd., from 6:00pm-9:30pm. Great fun for animal-loving, pizza-eating, movie-watching kids! What better way to end the week than getting cozy with kitties & puppies, enjoying G-rated critter movies, making friends with other young animal lovers and snacking on pizza & popcorn at the LA/SPCA! August 18^th 50 Haircuts in 50 States in 50 Days—from 8:30am-8:00pm, Paris Parker Aveda Salon (5434 Magazine St.) will host hairstylist Patrick Lomantini on his nationwide quest to provide 50 Haircuts in 50 States in 50 Days! For a minimum donation of $20 to the Louisiana SPCA, Patrick of Lomantini The Salon in Wichita, KS will offer-up new coifs, just in time for back-to-school. Call 891-1012 to schedule an appt.
