Megan

I am so very happy for Megan but as happy as I am, I miss her. Not only from a client perspective, but she helped me so much with Administration.  I am thrilled to announce that she has finally found a teaching position doing what she has wanted to do for a very long time.  You see, she has a degree from Kent State University in Special Education.  She applied for a position in Jefferson Parish and was hired the same day.

I am so proud of her!  She will be teaching 6th grade boys and started in her class room yesterday.  We are keeping her on payroll and insurance because she wants to be and will be a great help during holiday times and during the summer.  If I asked Megan to help this evening after school she would be here to pick up keys and help.  She has been a great addition to our team and again, as much as I will miss her daily, I am so happy for her.  She has been with us for years and we are not going to replace her.

Congratulations Megan.

Rescuing a baby is no joke...

Paws and fingers crossed...  I so hope this perspective family is willing and able to take her.

She is still at CCV and will move to Canine Connection on Wednesday.  If you have time to take her for a cuddles, please let me know and I will make arrangements.  She is Heart Worm positive so we can't do much with her.

We are still calling her Megan's little girl.  I hope the perspective new Mommy will name her soon.

Donations and the little girl that Megan saved...

We have a few big donation bags to deliver next week.  If you have anything you would like to donate, please leave for us to pick up.  They can always use pet beds, toys, towels, sheets, blankets, etc...  We are going to drop off on the 1st.

We have had a very eventful week... for those of you that do not consistently  follow our blog, this happened.  I have posted a few updates.  If you know of anyone that may be interested in adopting or fostering this little girl, please let me know.  I have taken care of all of her medical expenses and I am boarding her at CCV.  She is a sweet little girl but as you can imagine, trying to place a Pittbull is very difficult.  I hope we can find a home for her because if not, we will have no other option but to turn her over to the SPCA in hopes they can. (For curious minds - no... Tia is not an option)

The life Megan saved...

Paws and fingers crossed and thanks to Gene Goldring we may have found a family! We are all so hopeful that this works out.  She is still at Crescent City Vet and is getting tons of love and attention.

Thanks y'all for continuing to ask about her and those that have volunteered to financially support her, walk her and spend time just cuddling with her.

I will keep y'all posted!

Update... Sweet baby girl!

Megan has had one heck of a day... she saved a life!

The sweet little girl is resting at Crescent City Vet.  Dr. Henry thinks she is between one and two ish.  She is Heart Worm positive.  Indeed she must have just had a litter because she still producing milk. She gets on well with others and really just wants to put her head on your knee.

I have been working with a wonderful client who has dedicated her life to rescue and she is trying to help us find a home for her.  If you know anyone who might be interested in fostering or have a place in your heart and home, please phone or email.

To think - someone tied her up in the early morning hours without food or water.  She had gotten sick all over herself.  Those sweet eyes...  We are so worried about her babies.  They could be anywhere...

Time out... Megan found this Mommy tied to a car this morning!

She looks to have just had a litter.  She was dumped... She is currently at Crescent City Vet with Dr. Henry but we are going to need to find a place for her.  If you can foster or help in any way... please let us know.

Working the phones...

With 1,890+ twitter followers I am not sure how a "national pet magazine" sourced the blog and this photo but I hope to be able to ask them soon... The interview lasted about 30 ish minutes and if an article never sees the light of day, that is just fine.  It was such an honor.

This is just one example of our "in our home clients"... This is a prefect example of "we threat them like ours..."  This darling baby belongs to two very busy ER Doctors. We have had him from the week they adopted him (6ish weeks) and we are so thankful.  The other little darling baby is baby R - Megan's baby. He obviously loves his overnight guests and for that I am so thankful.
